Glastonbury registration re-opens
Ticket registration for deadline has been re-launched after the event failed to sell out in the first two days.
Festival organiser Michael Eavis has claimed that the slow ticket sales were the result of bad weather in past years.
However, despite speculation to the contrary, he denies that music fans were put off by the decision to book US rapper Jay-Z as main headliner.
Tickets for the festival went on sale a few days ago. By Sunday afternoon, only 100,000 out of a total of 137,500 had been snapped up. Previous years have seen places filled in a matter of hours.
Organiser Emily Eavis says the extended registration will give people a second chance to sign up for the event.
"We're having a massive influx of people saying they didn't register. So what we're going to reopen registration and allow the extra people who want to come to do so," she said.
Glastonbury 2008 takes place from 27-29 June. Joining Jay-Z as headliners will be The Verve and Kings of Leon. Other acts appearing include Hot Chip, Leonard Cohen and Neil Diamond, with more to be announced next month.
With less than 40,000 tickets left, registration will now be open for an indefinite amount of time.
Ms Eavis added: "We had registration open for a month and we're just going to reopen it.
To be honest, there aren't that many tickets left to sell. They'll probably trickle along I imagine over the next few weeks. There won't be a massive surge."
